John Tobias is an American comic book artist, graphic designer, writer, and video game designer who has a net worth of $4 million. John Tobias was born in Chicago, Illinois in August 1969. He is best known for co-creating the Mortal Kombat series with Ed Boon. Tobias took classes at the Art Institute of Chicago while in high school. He worked as an artist for The Real Ghostbusters comic book series.
Tobias joined Midway Games and went on to work on the original arcade version of the game Smash TV. He created the early storyline, themes, and settings for the Mortal Kombat series. He also designed all the characters from the early games through Mortal Kombat 4 in 1997. Some of the most popular characters he created include Goro, Raiden, Liu Kang, Sub-Zero, Scorpion, and Johnny Cage. Tobias co-formed Studio Gigante in 2000 and published Tao Feng: Fist of the Lotus and WWE WrestleMania 21.
